Looking for Plants for Sale?
Windy Willows is a wholesale nursery that offers over 300 different species of trees, plants, flowers, perennials, ground covers, vegetables, and selected herbs for sale. We also have a number of services to choose from, such as landscaping (consultation, planning, and implementation) and rainwater harvesting (planning and installation of units). Our well-trained experts are always ready to answer questions, give advice, and guide you when it comes to our wide range of plants.
Varying from month to month, we normally have some exciting specials running on plugs. Plugs (also called seedlings) are small plants that are grown in trays, and are ready for transplantation at a later stage. At Windy Willows Wholesale Nursery, every one of our top 100 plants is sold in plugs, meaning you can have a variety of some of our most beautiful botanical wonders right in your own garden. Below are some of the lovely plugs we normally have for sale:
Also known as the Chinese Violet or Creeping Foxglove, this plant is an herbaceous groundcover that attracts several types of butterflies, moths, and bees. This is an evergreen, hardy plant that enjoys semi-shade.
Sometimes called a Lobster Bush, Plectranthus neochilus is a perennial groundcover with highly fragrant, spur flowers. Closely resembling Lavender, this plant’s flowers are blue-purple, and is quite drought-resistant, enjoying full or partial sun.
Buxus faulkner is a compact, upright evergreen plant that is used ideally as hedging that can be easily shaped. These plants have a high tolerance for frost and colder temperatures. They enjoy full sun or semi-shade, and will need plenty of water to keep them flourishing in the heat of the summer months.
Durant “Sheena’s” Gold is a beautiful, medium-sized evergreen shrub that is a popular choice for low hedges or centrepieces in pots. These lovely plants require a lot of trimming and pruning, and tend to be frost-tender.
Commonly known as the Magenta Lilly Pilly, or Magenta Cherry, this plant is a fast-growing, rainforest tree with glossy foliage and edible magenta fruit (although they may sometimes be white, pink, or purple too). This tree is drought-tolerant and suitable for xeriscaping, and is known to attract bees, butterflies, and birds.
This graceful, evergreen tree is sometimes called a ‘Karee tree’. It is a favourite amongst South Africans, as it is drought-resistant and hardy. Its small lime-yellow flowers (and subsequent fruit) attracts a vast array of insects and birds. This tree is a wonderful addition to homes with children who love to explore and climb low-growing branches in wonderful shade.
Apart from the above, we have many more beautiful plugs that are currently on sale, and landscaping and nursery clients also receive a fortnightly list of all of the plugs we have available.
