Rainwater Harvesting
Basic Unit:
Rainwater harvesting tank.
- Cement base for the tank to stand on.
- 1000 L or 2500 L rainwater tank connected to your gutter downpipe.
- Leaf catcher to filter out debris.
- Ball valve on your tank for non-pressurised water outlet.
Intermediate Unit:
Rainwater harvesting tank plus municipal backup (for when it does not rain).
- Cement base for the tank to stand on.
- 2500 L rainwater tank connected to your gutter downpipe.
- Leaf catcher to filter out debris.
- Ball valve on your tank for non-pressurised water outlet.
- Piping from municipal feed into the tank.
- Electronic float valve to keep the tank full at all times (can be adjusted for summer/winter).
Advanced Unit:
Includes a pressure pump and water regulator to allow for connection to a garden sprinkler/irrigation system.
- Cement base for the tank to stand on.
- 2500 L rainwater tank connected to your gutter downpipe.
- Leaf catcher to filter out debris.
- Ball valve on your tank for non-pressurised water outlet.
- Piping from municipal feed into the tank.
- Electronic float valve to keep the tank full at all times (can be adjusted for summer/winter).
- Pressure pump to generate sufficient pressure to drive a garden irrigation system. Output at 50 L/min.
- Note that this unit cost does not include a feedback into the house from the tank in the event of a water outage. The cost of this feed will depend on the distance from the tank to the main line (see picture opposite). Cost on request.
